The count is in!!

Over the long Memorial Day weekend, the number of DUIs is greater than DUIs that happened last year. In some places, the number of DUIs reached into the hundreds. Most of the cops will tell you though that the objective is not revenue, but safe driving. DUIs do kill people, innocent and guilty. I'm really curious to see what 4th of July has in store for the record.

Driving on the Sidewalk

In Chicago, some young woman was so intoxicated, she drove through a chain link fence over the side walk and came to a stop on the sand of Centennial Beach. Apparently she had weed and a pipe in the car as well and was arrested for possesion as well as intoxicated driving(DWI).

These are the kind of things I hate to miss. I mean, chain-link looks forgiving, but it can really mess things up. She had to have been driving really fast. Thank god I wasn't there, because I'd probably be laughing too hard.

If you're going to be drinking, don't be stupid. Get a sober driver and avoid the DUI because your first DUI is nothing laugh about $8,000 later.

Prime Example

This guy is the leader in what our blog represents. Well, not quite but he still thinks he can get away with drunk driving.

Man With 0.49 Blood Alcohol Pleads Not Guilty. A man who authorities say had a blood alcohol level six times the legal limit has been arraigned on a drunken driving charge. Stanley Kobierowski, of North Providence, appeared briefly in court Friday. (Aug. 1)This is where a Rhode Island man drove his truck off the road last month --- after what police allege was a night of drinking. [Notes:show crash site]When police arrested him --- they say he had a blood alcohol level of .491 --- SIX times the legal limit. [Notes:in custody shot]Yet--- curiously....in court Friday--- 34-year-old Stanley Kobierowski ((koh-buh-ROW'-skee)) pleaded not guilty to drunken driving. [Notes:in court broll] Police say Kobierowski registered a blood-alcohol level----that might hold the state record...--and he even had to go through a process of detoxification at a local hospital --before his arrest.. The legal limit in Rhode Island ----as is the case in many states----is 0.08.A level of 0.30 is classified as stupor ----- 0.4 is comatose ---- and 0.5 is considered fatal.. Kobierowski now faces a pretrial court appearance next month.

Cinco De Mayo Fiestas y Checkpoints

Tomorrow is yet another American Holiday we've all been waiting for. Cinco de Mayo is a time for Magaritas, Coronas and Tequila shots, but be careful because those drinks can really come back to you like a boomerang strapped with dynamite. Before you now it, you'll take two steps and end up face-planting the floor. Just be careful because there will be several checkpoints out there waiting to pop you for drunk driving. Jail cells are going to be packed with DUI criminals, one drink shy of last call. It only means that you are going to need an attorney afterwards and there are several places to come up on one. You can always check this out. Also if anyone knows of any checkpoints that may happen, post them up!!

Greenville Man Gets 7th DUI

Greeneville TN - Larry Estepp, a Tennessee man was arrested for his 7th DUI May 1st, after a traffic stop for erratic driving. He was also said to be driving on a suspended/revoked license. A word to the wisest of us, please do not let yourself drive after you've obtained 7 DUIs. You're not doing anybody and kind of good. Ask for a ride next time.
