Man Arrested for 5th DUI

Yes, that is correct. His fifth DUI!! According to police, this is how everything went down. Police responded to a burglary at a home in Missoula, MT. The drunk man pounded on the door and eventually took a hard right foot to the doorknob crashing through it. The resident started yelling at the man, like anyone should and was threatened with death and violence.

After a long heated argument, the drunk drove off in his SUV and was quickly pulled over by police. He easily failed sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of 0.202, which is just over twice the legal limit. As of now, the drunk is being held on $20,000 bail.

Honestly, it sounds like a funny story to me, but it could have been really scary too. I hope everyone involved is safe.

DUI in the most peculiar way

You don't have to be driving a car to be charged with driving drunk. Deputies in Massachusetts, report stopping a tipsy duffer who was driving a golf cart home.

According to deputies, the 47-year-old man told them that relatives had left him at a golf course where they had spent the day.

So, he got into a golf cart and decided to drive home. However, that same trip was nearly 40 miles.

Thankfully, the man only got about a mile before being pulled over by the law and avoided potential injuries.

Deputies say the man told them he had 10 beers, but didn't think he was drunk.

The attorney who covers this case is sure going to have a laugh when the man swears he was indeed "Stone Cold Sober."

Even D-Listers are subject to Let this be a lesson to the rest of you. Police don't always favor a celebrity when it comes to DUI Arrests.

In the meantime, check out this classic piece of art.

Police Irony

This one caught me by surprise. A couple of police officers in Columbus OH were caught driving under the influence. The offiers were off-duty when the arrest happened. The night of the arrest, one on-duty officer reported to a car accident only to find the driver to be one of his fellow officers. Apparently the DUI offender is a 22-year veteran and has been a well renowned officer the entire time. Other officers found it shocking that he would do such a thing and have it lead to something so tragic.

I think it's a good example of officers doing the right thing by not displaying favoritism. They could have let the officer off by association, but instead required him to man up to the consequences. Eventually, the officer relinquished his command and resigned from the force on his own accord.

Fallen Angel Tragedy

The San Gabriel man accused of driving drunk and killing Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and two of his friends has pleaded not guilty to murder and DUI charges.

Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, pleaded not guilty in Orange County Superior Court to three counts of murder, drunk driving and fleeing the scene of an accident. Police said Gallo’s blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit when he reportedly ran a red light and struck the car in which Adenhart was riding. He faces 55 years to life in prison if convicted on all charges.

Murder charges are becoming more and more common in California DUI cases involving death where the accused driver has one or more prior drunk driving convictions. Second-degree murder is an extremely serious charge that carries harsh consequences, so it’s critical to have an experienced California DUI lawyer at your side.
